Hugh Pym

Hugh Pym has been the Chief Economics Correspondent for BBC News since 2009. He has worked in TV and Radio since 1983 for some of the UK’s leading broadcasters including Channel 4, ITN and Sky. He covered the 1987 Stock Market Crash; the 1997 General Election and the 2008 Financial Crisis. Hugh has co-authored three books with Nick Kochan – “The Guinness Affair”; “Gordon Brown, the First Year in Power” and “What Happened? And other questions about the credit crunch”. Hugh was named British Venture Capital Association’s ‘Commentator of the Year’ (2002) and won the Business Services Association Media Award in 2008. Hugh has three children and ran as the Liberal Democrat candidate for North Wiltshire in the 2001 General Election.
